Why we're building PennyCrew
Kids learn about money by handling it: earning, waiting, saving and choosing. PennyCrew gives families a simple, honest way to do that together.
Allowances and chore charts usually live on the fridge, in a notes app, or in a parent's memory. Promises get forgotten, balances get disputed, and kids never see the full picture of what they earned and spent.
PennyCrew puts that picture in one place. Parents decide the rules (which chores pay, how much allowance, what needs approval), and kids get a clear, private view of their own money and goals. Every change is recorded, and nothing a child does touches real money: PennyCrew is a teaching ledger, not a bank.
We are a small team, currently in pre-launch. We would rather ship fewer features that work than make promises we can't keep.
What we hold ourselves to
Parent-reviewed chores
Parents review submitted chores before any reward is recorded.
Child-friendly access
Children use a family code and PIN instead of creating an email account.
An educational ledger
PennyCrew records allowances and rewards; it is not a bank and never holds or moves real money.
